What is Ecstatic Dance?

Ecstatic Dance is a global movement of conscious dance events held in cities all around the world.

We begin together in a circle.
A guided dancing introduction helps everyone to land in their body.
The DJ takes us on a musical journey - moving through different music genres, rhythms and emotions. At the end we land with a sound healing and a closing circle.

This clear setup is creating a dancefloor to unfold in ways that go beyond the dancefloors of normal clubs or parties! Here, really everybody can drop deeply into their own flow. Very soon the Dancefloor feels like magic is happening:

The mind becomes more quiet. Judgment fades. People allow themselves to let go of their hiding and express themselves and experience moments of deep flow. The movements are synchronising across the Dancefloor. And movement becomes communication..

Sometimes playful. Sometimes powerful. Sometimes deeply meditative.

Because this also becomes a sensitive space, it is very important for us to provide support on a spiritual level: 

We create an altar at the edge of the Dancefloor to have a centerpoint. The four directions and the crystals help to ground people who are in process and to have a space to meditate together.

A team of spaceholders holds the presence of meditation, so it is easier for everybody to link into the field together.

Over the years people report that this is a big reason why our dance feels especially deep.
