What is Ecstatic Dance?
Ecstatic Dance is a global movement of conscious dance events held in cities all around the world.
We start the evening together in a circle, then a guided dancing introduction helps everyone activate their body.
Right after, the DJ takes us on a musical journey, moving through different music genres, rhythms and emotions.
At the end we land with a sound healing and finish the evening with a closing circle.
This clear setup is enabling the energy on the dancefloor to unfold in ways that go beyond what happens in most normal clubs or parties!
Here, everybody can drop deeply into their own flow.
The mind becomes quieter. Judgment fades. People allow themselves to let go of their hiding and express themselves through dance.
The movements are synchronising across the Dancefloor, becoming a new way of communication.
Sometimes playful. Sometimes powerful. Sometimes deeply meditative.
Discover hidden depths
It can become quite a sensitive space, which is why it is very important for us to also provide support on a spiritual level:
We create an altar at the edge of the dance floor to have a centre point. The four directions and the crystals help to ground people who are in process and to have a space to meditate together.
A team of spaceholders sustain a mindful presence at the altar and make sure that everyone can safely enjoy the night.
Over the years, people report that these are big reasons why our dance feels especially deep.

No talking on the dancefloor
So everyone can stay present in their experience.
No phones, photos, or videos
To protect the privacy and depth of the space.
No alcohol or drugs
We create a clear, conscious environment.
No shoes
We dance barefoot or in soft indoor dance shoes.
Respect yourself and others
Consent and awareness are essential.
These simple agreements create the magic of the dancefloor.

Ecstatic Dance Vienna is co-created by Wolf, Daniel and Mira. With over a decade of experience in space-holding, we are dedicated to providing a clear, grounded, and professional container where you can safely explore the infinite language of your body.

No. Ecstatic Dance is open to everyone. Whether it’s your first time or you’ve been dancing for years, you are welcome here.

Comfortable clothes you can move freely in.

We recommend arriving for the opening circle, so we can all start the journey together, but if you can’t make it on time, you can still join us.

Our dance is open for all ages, however, please make sure that your child doesn’t feel overwhelmed by the loud music or the big crowd.
